The NYC chapter of Girls in Tech engages the diverse and talented women in New York City and its surrounding areas. As a social network enterprise whose focus is to empower women in technology, giving each an influential voice we provide crucial avenues to partner and participate in the thriving communities in NYC. With the increasing importance of technology and its convergence with other professions, the opportunity to educate, celebrate, and support innovative industries, peoples, and initiatives is clear. The influential women of Girls in Tech share their passion, skills and experience with one another, we elevate and participate in a global conversation with our partner communities, and our events and programs reflect the collective power of the Global GIT network. Girls in Tech
Girls in Tech is a global social network enterprise focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of like-minded, professional, intelligent and influential women in technology. As young women with the capacity to inspire, we made it our personal desire and passion to create and sustain an organization that focuses on the collaboration, promotion, growth and success of women in the technology sector.
Created in February of 2007, ‘Girls in Tech’ (GIT) was founded by Adriana Gascoigne. GIT was born out of a need to provide a place for women to cultivate ideas around their careers and business concepts involving technology.
Girls in Tech aims to offer a variety of resources and tools for women to supplement and further enhance their professional careers and aspirations in technology. Some of these resources include, educational workshops and lectures, networking functions, round table discussions, conferences, social engagements, and recruitment events.
Girls in Tech chapters engage the local community of women in the technology industry, as well as reflect industry initiatives in various geographic regions.
